Building Evacuation Practice Exercise

Course Overview
The Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 requires an evacuation exercise to be performed at least once a year to test the effectiveness of the written Fire & Evacuation Plan for a building. The purpose of an evacuation exercise is to identify any deficiencies and weaknesses in current procedures, test the knowledge and skills of the Evacuation Coordinator or Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) members and ensure building occupants are familiar with evacuation procedures.
Winning Safety can provide the services of a qualified fire safety adviser to conduct a scenario based evacuation exercise incorporating and testing your written Fire & Evacuation Plan. The fire safety adviser will observe and evaluate the response of your ECO members, staff and other building occupants.
Certification
An evacuation checklist and an Evacuation Practice Record will be provided as required under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
Attendance
The exercise may be carried out either as a partial or total evacuation of a building.
Duration
Depending on the building configuration, occupancy and size, an average evacuation exercise will take up to 2 hours which includes a pre-evacuation briefing and a post-evacuation debrief with key personnel and ECO members.

The Booking & Training services are subject to the applicable terms & conditions on the booking form
Additional Costs may be added at the time of invoicing, including:
- A fee covering the attendance of more than one fire safety adviser to oversee the evacuation (dependant on building occupancy numbers)
- A fee if the evacuation exercise exceeds two hours
- A 20% surcharge may apply if training is delivered outside normal business hours (Mon-Fri 6:00am – 6:00pm)
- A charge covering travel and mobilisation expenses if the trainer needs to travel 50km outside the Brisbane office centre.
